The Moment

by Liz Y.

I love to watch the boats as they glide across the still water. They always remind me of the beautiful province of Newfoundland, lots of boats out in the lakes and oceans. The smell of the wonderful ocean and the green grass are enjoyable. The sky is clear and blue and the clouds a bright white. As the hot sun is shining down, the blue waters are deep and warm. It's very relaxing and the water is calm. I feel the hot sun beaming on my skin.

I sometimes put my oars in the boat and just let the boat coast along the lake. I sit still and let it take me wherever it drifts. Everything is quiet and peaceful. I feel like I'm in a world of my own. I can see the old houses from a distance and the huge boulders. The rocks are hot and sometimes very amazing because of their shape and sizes. When I come out for the day I feel refreshed. I will be back to try out some more places and see some new and old boats as they glide across the oceans. I love the still moment.
