This story was written by Cathy N., from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Cathy is enrolled in literacy classes at Dartmouth Literacy Network.

Being Creative

by Cathy N.

"What is being creative?" you ask? Being creative is basically, your own ideas, such as looking at a picture or scene and using your imagination to create your own scene. However, there are other ways of being creative.

One way that you can create is by taking something ordinary and adding a personal touch. For example, take an empty container of some kind, such as a juice can, and gather up such things as; beads, seashells, cloth, etc., and start decorating the container. There now, you have just made your own original pencil holder. If you like sewing, you can make your own design that is original. This can include pillows, blankets, or whatever.

The main idea to being creative is that it is original, is money saving, great gift ideas and above all, relaxing. If you want to get started by getting some ideas, use the library, they have a variety of subjects ranging from art to needlework, and more.
