Story of the Week

November 26, 2007

The following story was written by Andrea Carroll, Calgary, Alberta.  Andrea is originally from Bouctouche, New Brunswick.  This is on the East coast, where lots of people love to go dig for clams on the seashore. Andrea loves to do this every time she gets a chance.

Ouch!

by Andrea Carroll

My name is Andrea. I live in Calgary.

I'm from a French community in New Brunswick. In the summer, we dug for clams in the sand and in deep water. You feel them with your feet. You reach in the water and pick out the clams.

One time, a crab grabbed my toe. Someone said, "Don't move." It hurt and I shook my foot. I stood still and the crab let go.

Everybody laughed.
