Christmas

by Maria B.

My favorite time of year is Christmas because I go home to Labrador to spend time with my kids during Christmas holidays. We all exchange Christmas gifts, take pictures, and we all have Christmas dinner. We visit our families and friends, I'm so glad I go home for Christmas every year, that way I would be closer to my kids, relatives and friends. I love going for a ride in a car to look at the Christmas lights outside. My kid get so excited when they see the pretty lights and I also like decorating my place for Christmas. Every year, I put up Christmas lights on my window and decorate the tree and I love watching my kids opening up their Christmas gifts. I like to listen to Inuit Christmas music.

The last time I was home for Christmas was 9 or 10 years ago. I miss going around peoples houses to say Merry Christmas or go to Moravian Church service. We always have a feed of wild food, caribou, roasted goose in the oven with dumplings and partridge soup.

I love Christmas holidays especially my son's birthday, which is on New's Years day. (Jan.1) I buy him a birthday gift and we talk together for a long time on the phone.

That's all about my story about Christmas.
