UFO?

by Michael Woods

It was summer. It was the end of August. Chris and I were camping in Caledonia. We were camping on the banks of the Grand River. The weather was warm in the day and cool at night. It got so dark at night we would have a camp fire and tell stories all night.

One day we decided to go for a walk. There was no one around and we had to do something so we went for a trek down the Grand River road. We packed all our things into the tent and went on our way. There was nothing but fields to the right and the Grand River to the left. We walked for miles and it was starting to get late so we thought we would turn back. We crossed the road and started back. It started to get darker and darker as we had about a mile to get to the camp site. Then all of a sudden there was a bright light. The whole area we were standing in lit up and then it went back to darkness again. There were no cars or houses in the area. We were paralyzed while the light was there. After we thought maybe it was a plane but there were no sounds. It lasted only about twenty seconds. The strangest thing was as we were walking back to our camp site, we were suddenly facing the other way and my watch stopped at 9:23 p.m. I felt tingly all over and Chris said he felt the same. It lasted only a few minutes though. Then we started back to the camp site and by the time we got back it started to get light. To this day we are still wondering what happened.
