The following story was written by Erica Richards, from Edmonton, Alberta. Erica has been enrolled at Partnership Approach to Literacy (PAL), for close to two years. According to her tutor, she is soaking up knowledge like a sponge - she is doing wonderfully.
I am a math and literacy student. I joined the book club. I really enjoy attending. We take turns reading aloud. Then I find myself having more courage.
We help and encourage one another. I really like that.
We find stories and all get to agree or disagree about reading them. So you have a voice in deciding. And I love choices.
The book club has helped me to get to know others. I feel better about being a part of a team or group.
So please give a book club a try. It’s so much fun. I know you’ll like it. Plus your reading skills really improve.
