Story of the Week

November 20, 2006

This week, we have a story written by Jane L'Heureux, from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Jane has been a student at Northland Adult Learning Centre for a little over a year. She loves to cook and is the head chef for the school lunch program there. She enjoys learning something new every day.

Geese Open New Truck Route!

By Jane L'Heureux

I went to my back door and looked at the new truck route. And to my surprise, fifteen Canada Geese and their young were walking up the new pavement. It seemed to me that they were opening the truck route without a care in the world. I looked out and saw a lot more in my landlord's yard, and saw a whole bunch move to the service road. About a half an hour later, they flew away over the Steel Plant. Now their job was officially over, they had opened the route.
