This week, our story comes to us from Norman Wells, Northwest Territories. The author, Gloryann,is enrolled at the Norman Wells Learning Centre.
Being a parent is an awesome felling that you can experience everyday. I love being a parent because I can teach and learn from each one of my children. My children each have their own unique personality, and they have different ways of showing and teaching me things. It brings you closer to them. They feel very special and loving when you pay attention to them. There are times when you have bad days with them, but making them understand how you feel will make it easier. I always tell them what’s wrong and what’s right.
Each night I remind them to say a prayer and hearing “I love you” before they go to bed is a wonderful feeling. It’s a day of blessing in learning, teaching, and accomplishing a day with my children. I’m thankful everyday. I love when my children are happy with each other and being close to one another. It’s a hard job being a parent and it’s a gift from God. We parents have chores as well, not just the children. As a mother our job does not end until we thank god for the day, crawl into bed and enjoy the sleep we need.
Waking up and starting a new day with my children is priceless. One day my children will know how much it means to be a parent and how much a parent loves their children. I love my kids so much and I’m very happy and proud of them. At times they might get into trouble and learn from their mistakes. It just makes me feel proud to be a parent and have kids. I would have more children and enjoy life with them everyday. It’s a wonderful gift.
There’s not a day when I don’t tell my kids “I love you”. Each day when the kids are going to play, visit, etc., they always say “I love you” and you will hear this everyday 3/5 times. That shows a parent how much their children have learned about love, care, and prayers. Also how important it is having and being in a family. Take one day at a time and enjoy life. Have fun and experience life as we group up.
I have a family of 5 and love them with all my heart and am very proud of them. They may not be smart, pretty but in their hearts they love, care for everyone. To me my kids are unique in every which way and are pretty and handsome inside and out. You don’t need to be pretty and smart to love one another just have a heart and you will be loved no matter what. I am a very proud parent and love it everyday, every minute! My children make me feel I’m the luckiest woman to have them.
