This week, we have a story written by Audrey Large, from Duncan, BC. Audrey has recently been enrolled in literacy classes at the Reading and Writing Centre, an upgrading program offered by Vancouver Island University, Cowichan Campus, for adults wanting to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. Audrey had a rough time growing up as a kid with no father and with a mother who worked. Now she goes to school. She lives on a farm outside of Duncan, where she has rabbits and chickens, as well as three dogs and one cat. She has fun living on the farm.
It was a nice day to go on the ferry ride to Vancouver. The weather was fantastic. There was a lot of cute guys on the ferry.
Then we got off the ferry at Horseshoe Bay. We started to go to science world. Nora dropped us off at Science World. Joanne and we went inside to get our tickets to go inside the show at the Omnimax theatre. The show was about the Rainforest Adventure: Bugs! It was about bugs! It followed the life cycles of a mantis and a butterfly, from their birth to their inevitable encounter in the rainforest of Southeast Asia. I had fun at the show seeing all those bugs.
After the show I went to the gift shop to look around. Then I went to the gift shop and got a mood ring. The mood ring will change colour. It all depends on your moods.
The others went to play on the machines and mind twisters. They had fun being kids again. The teachers and the students had fun.
Then we went to catch the five o'clock ferry back from Vancouver. We went to have dinner on the ferry. After I had my dinner, I went up top outside and walk around the boat. The wind came up and just about blew me off the ferry. I was so scared! We had fun at Vancouver Science World.
