Story of the Week

May 23, 2005

This week, we have a poem written by Rosemary Bolton, from Salisbury, New Brunswick. Rosemary was recently enrolled in literacy classes at the Salisbury Community Academic Services Program (CASP). she has since moved to Nova Scotia.

A Winner

by Rosemary Bolton

I am a winner,
What I touch will turn to my future,
I am worth what I do.
Blind am I to my own succeses
Reach out my hand to a future unknown
Compassion is my beacon to a sinking light
I am but one, a winner.
With a heavy heart I discover
"Needs" is a want,
While "wants" should be a gift
Then, life is my need

The Earth my gift
A voice of one, a winner.
