Story of the Week

August 1, 2005

This week, we have a story written by Luzmira Gonzalez Garces, from Edmonton, Alberta. Luzmira is originally from Chile and she came to Canada in 2002. Their daughter, Angela, is 2½ years old.

How I met my husband

by Luzmira Gonzalez Garces

Thomas was visiting my country, Chile. He was staying at a hotel. I was working in the same hotel as a receptionist.

Thomas looked at me one day. He said, "Hello". I said "Can I help you?" He said, "Yes, please".

Later, he returned to Canada. He talked to me on the phone every day for six months. Then he came back to my country. He told me, "I love you, Luzmira". I said, "I love you too, Thomas."

We got married on May 15, 2001. We are happy and have a beautiful daughter, Angela. She is two.
