This week, we have a poem written by Kelly Michaud, from Saint-François, in New Brunswick. Kelly is enrolled in the Community Adult Learning Network/Centre d’apprentissage pour adultes in Madawaska County, New Brunswick. The poem below was part of an activity at the Saint-François Public Library for ”Poetry month” in April 2011.
Seeing the light in your eyes
Knowing I made you cry
Feelings you have deep inside
Change of your emotions rise
Loving you more makes me cry
Standing here feeling reckless inside
Taking one day at a time
Fighting what was supposed to be mine
The echo of your voice killing my mind
Wanting to break down and hide
I want to be by your side
Freeing these feelings inside
