Soundbites

In this troubled world of uncertainty, it is common knowledge many humans have a broken Spirit. The first step in healing is to connect the Spirit through the creation of arts and crafts.

As an Elder, my understandings of the process in life is either you live as a human being or as a Spiritual being. It has been said when the time is right, the guides and teachers will appear when we are ready. The Stardale program is just such a model to help heal. To let go of a selfish ego – go inside to claim inner peace and truly know yourself. I believe people who dedicate their lives towards helping others are Spiritual Beings. They can do so much by empowering others.

- Rena A youngman Sinclair – Elder / Teacher (member of Siksika Nation, Alberta)

I would like to congratulate and thank Helen McPhaden for her vision, commitment and caring in compiling the Stardale Program. This program will benefit many poor and marginalized women - helping them find their voices, discover their worth, and acquire new skills. One of the many unique features of this program that impressed me was the emphasis on the spiritual well-being of the women and their families.

- Dr. Mary Cronin - Faculty of Education - University of Regina

"High energy Helen McPhaden involves native women to empower themselves. Her workshops brings out self respect, nurtures innate creativity and spiritual growth. She touches many lives and we all benefit."

Professor Tang Lee, Environmental Design, The University of Calgary.
