Stardale Voguing Program The Stardale Vogue Modelling Dance Troupe is a project within the “Honouring the Girls’ Stories” program umbrella. Stardale developed and implemented self-development programs using creative processes, such as dance, to educate the girls in matters of self esteem, building skill sets in cooperation, and learning how to perform in public setting. We have been encouraged by the positive outcomes and enthusiasm from the girls and their families from within the program dynamic. Voguing has been defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as follows: “to strike poses in campy imitation of fashion models especially as a kind of dance” – however, as a contemporary mode of performance art, voguing has been both an artefact of activism in response to (social-) classism in society as well as a prominent aspect of the modern fashion world.
