Frontier College has been responding to the literacy needs of Canadians since 1899. Its national network of volunteers teaches literacy skills through the Student Centred Individualized Learning method. Other programs include Campus Programs (Students for Literacy) and the Labourer-Teacher Program.

Réseau pour le développement de l'alphabétisme et des compétences (RESDAC)

Formerly the Fédération canadienne pour l’alphabétisation en français (FCAF), RESDAC groups together francophone literacy organizations in different areas of Canada. The organization helps to develop essential skills by offering a variety of activities for representation, awareness and promotion. It also offers practitioner training through its Réseau des formatrices et formateurs en éducation des adultes (network for practitioners in adult education).
