Born to Read is a program designed to promote the message of the importance of reading to children from birth. We present every baby born in New Brunswick with a bag of books, as well as information on early childhood development and library programs.

Canadian Research Institute for Social Policy (CRISP)

CRISP is a multi-disciplinary research organization dedicated to: conducting policy research aimed at improving the education and care of Canadian children and youth, contributing to the training of social scientists in quantitative research methods, and supporting low-income countries in their efforts to build research capacity in child development. CRISP is based at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton.
Community and Adult Learning Network

Community and Adult Learning Network

The Community and Adult Learning Network housed within New Brunswick’s Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour focuses on adult learning services including computer, literacy and workplace training. The site provides quick access to information about the Workplace Essential Skills (WES) certificate program, the Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) and General Education Development (GED) preparatory programs.

This organization is currently a member of Miramichi Partners in Literacy (since 2006) consisting of Miramichi Literacy Council Inc., New Brunswick Libraries, Horizon New Brunswick (hospital), and School District 16.

Formed in 1977, the MRLC (formerly the Greater Moncton Literacy Council) is a registered member of Laubach Literacy of Canada. This non-profit volunteer organization is committed to raising the literacy level of their community.
